Engineering Design Show 2026

Engineering Design Show returns with a sharper focus, and a new identity to match

Now in its 14th year, EDS unveils a bold new brand built around the three disciplines at the heart of modern design engineering

Engineering Design Show (EDS) is back, and it means business.

As the UK's home of design engineering, EDS has unveiled a new brand identity and a renewed sense of purpose ahead of its 2026 edition. The new look is anchored by a simple, powerful idea: EDS is where design engineers come to source the solutions to their design challenges.

Whatever the problem. Whatever the discipline. Whatever stage of the project. EDS has the products, the suppliers, the tools and the expertise to move it forward.

Embedded. Electronic. Mechanical. Engineered for Solutions.

More than a rebrand

This isn't a cosmetic refresh. It's a realignment; a deliberate return to what has always made EDS the unmissable event in the UK engineering calendar.

Simon Bonell, Event Director, has worked on every edition of the show since it launched. For him, 2026 marks a moment that's been building for some time.

"We're entering our 14th year and this is the evolution I've been waiting to showcase. It's far more than a rebrand. It's a realignment with our core purpose and the community we serve. EDS is where electronic, embedded and mechanical design engineers come through the door to source components, suppliers, tools and expertise. That's what we've always been. Now everything about the show reflects that."

From concept to prototype. From PCB to production. From design challenge to challenge solved.

EDS brings together thousands of engineers and hundreds of the UK's leading suppliers, solution providers and innovators — all under one roof, across two days.

Three disciplines. One destination.

EDS 2026 is structured around the three pillars of modern design engineering practice:

Electronic Design

Source the components, tools and expertise that power the next generation of electronic products. Meet the suppliers driving innovation in PCB design, power electronics, connectivity and beyond.

Embedded Design

From microcontrollers to real-time operating systems, EDS is where embedded engineers find the development tools, hardware platforms and technical knowledge to solve the challenges that matter.

Mechanical Design

Materials, manufacturing, simulation, precision engineering. EDS gives mechanical design engineers direct access to the suppliers and solutions that take a product from drawing board to reality.

As one attendee put it: "It's like being a kid in a sweet shop for engineers."

The Advisory Board: the industry shaping the show

For the first time, EDS has established a formal Advisory Board, bringing together senior engineering leaders from some of the UK's most respected organisations to help shape the show's direction, content and feature areas.

Representatives from Jaguar Land Rover, Dyson, BAE Systems, Lotus Cars, Siemens Healthineers, Würth Elektronik and more will work alongside the EDS team to ensure the show continues to reflect the real challenges, technologies and opportunities facing today's design engineers.

The conference programme will be curated in partnership with EDS' trusted editorial partners, The Engineer, Eureka and New Electronics, delivering expert-led content grounded in real engineering practice, not sales presentations.

"Having voices like these around the table is a statement of intent. These are the people at the forefront of British engineering, and their insight will directly shape what happens on the show floor, both in feature areas and on the conference stage." — Simon Bonell, Event Director

The reaction from the board speaks for itself. One member summed up their relationship with EDS simply: "It's the only show on the calendar that I won't let my wife book a holiday on those dates."

New for 2026: Meet the Buyer

EDS 2026 introduces a dedicated Meet the Buyer programme, a structured space where engineers and buyers can connect directly with leading suppliers through pre-arranged meetings. Supported by the EDS event app, visitors can plan their day, book meetings in advance and make sure every conversation counts.

A celebration of innovation

Above everything, EDS 2026 is designed to feel like exactly what it is: a celebration of the ingenuity, creativity and craft that defines UK design engineering.

"Engineering Design Show has always been where ideas become reality. We want every engineer who walks through the door to feel that. Whether you're looking for your next component supplier, discovering a new design tool, or sitting in a conference session that changes how you think about a problem, this show is built for you. Come and find your solution." — Simon Bonell, Event Director

Registration for the 14th edition of the Engineering Design Show opens soon. Be sure to keep an eye out and join thousands of design engineers as the show returns to the Coventry Building Society Arena on 7–8 October 2026.
