Willem Toet
Willem is a world-renowned aerodynamicist. After graduating and working in motorsport in Australia for some years Willem moved to Europe for work. He has worked in Formula 1, mainly with the title of Head of Aerodynamics, from the mid 1980’s to 2015. He worked for Benetton, Ferrari, BAR/Honda and BMW/Sauber. Until recently, Willem consulted for the Sauber group mainly for aerodynamic research and wind tunnel testing and does occasional direct consulting work on aerodynamics. He is a Professor at the University of Greater Manchester & lecturer at other universities and has recently set up an online “Aerodynamics Unlocked” course with Driver61. He has been a judge and ambassador for Formula Student (FS/FSAE) in the UK (and, when time permits, in Australia) for many years.
