Scott Brannan
Founder,
Scottbrannan Ltd
Scott Brannan is an industry-leading Senior Cost Engineer with over two decades of experience transforming complex technical concepts into commercial, cost-optimized realities. Rooted in hands-on precision manufacturing as a CNC machinist and toolmaker, Scott combined his practical trade foundation with an eight-year Open University degree in materials science and engineering mechanics. Through senior cost estimation roles at OEMs such as Aston Martin, Jaguar Land Rover, TRW, and Dyson’s EV program, he established a track record of driving multi-million-pound savings, including £80M on power modules and £29M on vehicle design overhauls, by combining bottom-up cost modeling with rigorous supplier negotiations.
As founder of Scottbrannan Ltd, Scott leverages a proprietary cost estimation framework, built on a global database of over 1,800 machine specs and 2,000 materials, to advise pioneer organizations across electric mobility, aerospace, battery storage, agro-robotics, and emerging energy tech. Partnering with industry leaders like Rimac Group (P3), Northvolt, Yasa, LEVC, Freyr, and Hyperbat, Scott works alongside engineering and procurement teams to evaluate supplier quotes, set project target costs for grant applications, and optimize design-for-manufacture. His cross-disciplinary approach turns technical data into powerful commercial leverage, ensuring cutting-edge engineering programs reach market fully funded, scalable, and profitable.
