Paul is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years electronics and system design experience, including 25 years leading development teams. He graduated from Cambridge University with 1st Class Honours in Engineering in 1989, and for most of his career has worked in the field of optical telecommunications. He has played a key technical role in the design and development of many advanced products, notably with Marconi and Ericsson, for which he generated five patents. Since 2010, he has been CTO and co-founder of TerOpta Ltd, which today is working on radiation tolerant control solutions for optical communications in space. His key skills are in hardware design, especially analogue electronics, RF design, dynamic control and photonics.
