Karol Janik is a robotics, automation and physical AI leader with nearly 15 years of experience helping organisations translate advanced technologies into practical industrial capability. He is Robotics & Automation Technology Manager at the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), where he leads technology strategy and collaborative R&D programmes focused on robotics, autonomous systems and intelligent manufacturing. He is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, Chair of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult Robotics & Automation Special Purpose Group, a member of the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) College of Experts, and General Chair of the European Robotics Forum 2027. His work spans industry, academia and government, with a focus on accelerating technology adoption, developing innovation ecosystems and supporting the creation and growth of deep-tech ventures across the UK and Europe.
