David Miller
Senior Application Engineer,
Cambridge GaN Devices Ltd
David Miller is a Senior Application Engineer at Cambridge GaN devices. Prior to joining CGD, his focus was digital electronics and robotics. Upon joining CGD in 2021, David had to re-acquaint himself with all the power engineering lost in the eleven years since graduating college. Now with five years at a GaN company, he's built a deep knowledge of how high-power system designs need to adapt for wide-bandgap devices, which AI and electric cards are causing the traditionally conservative power industry to reckon with. At CGD his two areas of interest for the last two years have been paralleling GaN devices, both as a pure GaN solution and in combination with IGBTs for use in traction inverters; and in the DCX LLC power bricks, to push the limits of current PCB and magnetics design. Both topics involve going on deep dives into what happens during switching events and how the power loop parasitics and gate drive influence the circuit.
