Christophe Convert
Christophe Convert is a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Design for Manufacture (DFM) specialist, and founder of Convert Design Ltd, a UK consultancy delivering full-lifecycle product development. Backed by over 28 years of engineering experience, Christophe specializes in taking complex hardware concepts from initial CAD modelling and kinematics through to physical prototyping, DFMEA, testing, and volume production.
Over his career, he has partnered with major brands and SMEs across the automotive, aerospace, and consumer manufacturing sectors, including Aston Martin Lagonda, Dyson Automotive, Worcester Bosch, Superform Aluminium, and Plastic Omnium, helping them de-risk product development, eliminate costly tooling errors, and accelerate time-to-market.
Originally trained as a toolmaker specializing in plastic injection molding, Christophe combines hands-on workshop manufacturing expertise with advanced 3D CAD design. Beyond his consultancy work, he is an active industry speaker and champion of UK SME collaboration, design-to-cost principles, and sustainable innovation. He is also the founder and Managing Director of Bottld, a venture focused on developing patented, automated reverse vending technology for sustainable plastic collection and recycling. His "cradle-to-grave" engineering methodology focuses on de-risking development through early physical prototyping and close collaboration with suppliers to deliver reliable, highly manufacturable products.
