Smallfry has recently been working with Vitec Imaging Solutions Group to develop the super-compact and lightweight ‘Wavo’ microphone for Joby. Powerful and portable enough to deliver high quality audio wherever you are, Wavo is aimed at vloggers, podcasters and mobile content creators who want quality sound to go with their image capture.
Key to the design is the miniature body isolated from unwanted vibrations with a custom designed Hytrel® Duo-Lyre® maximising Rycote Microphone Windshields unique technology in a product that is portable and robust. We worked closely with Rycote and Joby to develop the Wavo mic to complement Joby’s famous GorillaPod and mobile accessories. From initial concept ideas, design development and prototypes, Smallfry took the design all the way through to the final design for manufacture.
