Podcasts at a virtual event - a new way of connecting the engineering community

That Engineering Chat repeats its podcast takeover at EDS Reconnect, innovating the way engineers consume information. That Engineering Chat will host a lively and informative series of podcasts with some of the companies exhibiting at the virtual event.

EDS Reconnect (27-28 April) is the virtual engineering community event, hosted by Mark Allen Exhibitions, delivering two days of live and on-demand content. Once again, Chatty Hatter will record a series of podcasts, reflecting some of the technologies, innovations and personalities at EDS Reconnect.

“We began recording podcasts at the beginning of the pandemic lockdown and it has just taken off,” said Nicole Piesse Turner, Chatty’s founder and director. “It was an effective way to reach out to engineers then and continues to be an exciting and accessible medium. Guest can explore anything and everything related to our industry; we have charted first responses to lockdown restrictions and are now hearing how people are emerging and adapting as world events continue to impact businesses.

“As well as topical podcasts, others have focused on particular engineering subjects – if it’s about engineering, we talk about it,” she said.

Nicole will be hosting a series of That Engineering Chat podcasts during EDS Reconnect, with a variety of guests from design engineering, electronic design and manufacturing.

“We were delighted to be asked back to create more engaging content, and have some exciting guests, including Sam Rogers, from Gravity Industries, a company pushing the frontiers of human flight, with its jet suits,” Nicole revealed.

Other podcast guests will be Rob Shropshire, from design and simulation specialist, Origin Engineering Solutions, Graham Hutchins and Drew Morley from Simms International and Tim Willoughby, Managing Director of Mark Allen Exhibitions.
