New product on show at the Hammond stand at EDS 2021

27 September 2021

In addition to three new product families being shown on stand M16 at EDS 2021, Hammond Electronics will also be featuring new versions of its popular 1553 hand-held family.

The new BX, CX and DX versions of the 1553 family feature an additional flat removable plastic end panel, giving extra options for cable entries and I/O. The 1553 family features an ergonomically curved shape with a soft plastic overmould for a comfortable grip, ideal for housing hand-held instruments, remote controllers, flying lead machine controllers and many other applications where a stylish, comfortable and easy to hold enclosure is required.

The 1551V family sensor enclosure family has been extended with the addition of 45, 60 and 80mm diameter round versions, available with plain or vented covers. Also added to the 1551V range are unventilated cover versions of the ventilated 40 x 40mm, 60 x 60, 80 x 40 and 80 x 80mm square and rectangular enclosures for use housing PCBs and small systems that require environmental protection.

The 1552 family in UL94-V0 flame-retardant ABS enclosure features an ergonomic design that fits comfortably into the hand, enabling it to be used for long periods in applications such as a machine controller or an electric hoist control. The end panels are removable for easy modification, and for use with flying cables, an alternative end panel with an integral rubberised cord protector and a strain relief bracket is available. An optional wall mounted holder allows the unit to be stored in a convenient location when not in use.

The 1557 family is available in polycarbonate, designed to meet IP68 sealing, and ABS, designed to meet IP66. Rounded corners and top face give a modern smooth style, and elevated environmental sealing levels allow the enclosures to protect the housed equipment against dust and water entry in dirty and damp environments. The 1557 can be used as a free-standing enclosure when fitted with the supplied feet, or it can be wall-mounted with either four visible fixings or two hidden ones.
