Hammond on Stand M16: new products and mod capabilities

Hammond Electronics will be showing a selection of its latest new enclosures, so if you need standard or in-house modified plastic, die-cast or extruded aluminium enclosures, drop by Stand M16 to see what we can do for you to bring your project to market on time and on budget.
In addition to showing examples of its various well-established ranges, the latest extension to the extensive 1551 family is the 1551W Series, IP68 sealed versions of its popular 1551 miniature enclosure family are on show. Launched in an initial five sizes, all available with a plain or flanged lid, the UL94-V0 polycarbonate enclosures are suitable for use inside or outside.
Also on the stand are the recently launched 1557 family available in polycarbonate, sealed to IP68 and lower-cost ABS, designed to meet IP66. Rounded corners and top face give a modern smooth style, and environmental sealing allows the enclosures to protect the housed equipment against dust and water entry in dirty and damp environments. The 1557 can be used as a free-standing enclosure when fitted with the supplied feet, or it can be wall-mounted with either four visible fixings or two hidden ones. The 1552 family features an ergonomic design that fits comfortably into the hand, enabling it to be used for long periods in applications such as a machine controller or an electric hoist control. The end panels are removable for easy modification, and for use with flying cables, an alternative end panel with an integral rubberised cord protector and a strain relief bracket is available.
All standard enclosures need to be configured to meet the specific requirements of an application. Hammond has extensive in-house modification capabilities that can deliver your configured enclosure quickly and efficiently. We have many thousands of standard enclosures designs and sizes and we are able to offer modifications for orders as low as 25 units. Using us, the original manufacturer, eliminates scrap and incorrect design interpretations of your requirements.
We offer precision CNC milling of holes, cut-outs, pockets, tapping and countersinking. We have four-colour UV digital printing and solid colour silk screen printing capability. We can also undertake traditional engraving of logos and text in both plastic and metal enclosures. Pressed-in hardware: nuts, studs and standoffs is another service. All ABS, flame retardant ABS and polycarbonate enclosures can be moulded in any custom colour subject to a minimum order quantity, and both aluminium and plastic enclosures can be powder coated in either a smooth or textured finish.
