New Highly Accurate, Ultra-Miniature Components from GEYER Electronic
GEYER Electronic introduces their new 1.2x1mm 32.768kHz KXO-89 TCXO for projects requiring stable tuning-fork timing in an ultra-miniature package, embracing demand for increasingly compact components for modern-day applications by adding a temperature-compensating option alongside their 1x0.8mm KX-2 and KX-327ZT crystal ranges.

New Highly Accurate, Ultra-Miniature Frequency Components from GEYER Electronic

The 32.768kHz KXO-89 TCXO, measuring just 1.2x1mm, is now available from GEYER Electronic for projects that require stable tuning fork timing in an ultra-miniature package, embracing the demand for increasingly compact components for modern-day applications by adding a temperature-compensating option alongside their 1x0.8mm KX-2 and 32.768kHz KX-327ZT quartz crystal ranges.

The GEYER KXO-89 TCXO is a quality driven, ultra-compact 32.768kHz timing solution, providing temperature compensated frequency stability of ±5ppm over -40°C to +85°C in a miniature 1.2 x 1.0 x 0.55mm footprint. A typical supply current of 1.0µA at (1.8V), and no-load, makes this HCMOS oscillator a low power option for Smart Meters, Sensors, Wearables and other long-life battery devices.  The KXO-89 is a highly stable oscillator, offering a simplified system to reduce software compensation and calibration needs whilst maintaining precision over temperature variations to lessen drift in RTCs, sensors, and GNSS holdover.

For applications where the temperature compensation is not so much of a consideration, GEYER Electronic offers the KX-327ZT 32.768kHz quartz crystal in an ultra-miniature 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.4mm package to match the footprint of the KX-2 MHz range.  The KX-327ZT has load capacity options of between 6pF to 12.5 pF, a standard ±20ppm frequency tolerance and ESR of 90kΩ max. Its size and low-power consumption make it ideally suited to work alongside the KX-2 in smartwatches, wearables, GPS tracking devices, communication modules, telematics and many other applications where space is at a premium.

The KX-2 MHz crystal range has been designed primarily for the medical industry, with hearing aids particularly in mind. In an ultra-miniature package measuring 1.0 x 0.8 x 0.34mm, the KX-2 is one of the smallest quartz crystals in its class on the electronics market.  With its compact size and ESR of 60Ω max, the KX-2 is a powerful, space- and energy-saving solution for small, battery-powered wearables. This tiny crystal range offers frequency options from 40.00MHz to 100MHz, critical for accurate and stable operational processing and short-range communication technologies such as Thread & Matter, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The modern marketplace is developing rapidly and the demand for compact, energy-efficient and ultra-reliable devices is constantly increasing and changing.  The accuracy and reliability of these GEYER Electronic components, together with their compact package and low power consumption, make them ideal for those battery-powered devices in the wearables, IoT, sensors and portable medical devices fields.   All products come with the added support of the GEYER Electronic R&D Engineers and Sales Professionals during the design stage and throughout the lifetime of the project.
